Christmas Card-agains

I finally got around to writing some Christmas cards this evening. Always a tedious job, and I can never be bothered to write anything particularly interesting in them. It's effectively just a way of reiterating to people that I'm not dead.

Now all I have to do is buy stamps and post the darn things. There is a chance that I will manage to do this before the deadline, which I believe is later this week. I might forget though.

Impressively fast delivery to me - after allowing for the time difference, it arrived less than 3 hours after you typed this post!

And thank you!

That's pretty good - I'm pretty sure I missed the official last post date for Australia!

I went in on Saturday to post some birthday cards, and asked them whether they'd be OK for arriving by 29th, and they said they'd arrive before Christmas - yesterday was the last day.

Another thing that'll please you, especially in light of your recent Christmas card savings - Pete & Emma's card arrived a day later than yours, postmarked 2 days earlier, and with a 72p stamp instead of a 50p one!

From UK to here, last day is usually about 10 days before Christmas, depending on when the weekends fall. 7 days (which is how long yours actually took) is slightly on the good side of average at normal times of the year, so it's very quick for mid-December.
