I think I've found the best kitchen gadget ever invented in the new Argos catalogue. It's on page 699. It's a machine that turns instant coffee into "authentic cappuccino"!

Shy and Retiring

I watched a man retire today. It was a little odd. I'm used to people leaving, but I've never seen somebody retire. 40 years of service. Long time.

But I'll be up to 10 years myself in a month's time. I think I need to leave the Argos catalogue on my boss's desk with a bookmark in the carriage clock section (not sure if Argos do carriage clocks, but they should do). It's the only way I'm likely to get one.

And I don't think I will :-(

Argos Roulette

I nearly found a fun new game just now. Take the online Argos catalogue, and enter meaningful seven digit numbers. For example, dates of birth, phone numbers and so on (possibly with some digits removed to get down to seven). And see what fun items you get!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any numbers that worked.

But I did think of a way to turn it into a fun party game! Just take turns entering random numbers with your friends. Then the first person to actually get an item has to buy it there and then from the online shop! Hours of fun!

(I think I might be using "fun" in a new way here...)

Waiting for the Wii-kend

I'm hoping my Wii will arrive tomorrow. I may or may not have received an automated message on my mobile yesterday saying it was on its way but because I was in the pub at the time all I could hear was nothing. It could just have been a random missed call.

I called the lady at Argos earlier and she thought I was probably ok, but she couldn't check on her computer because it was out of office hours. Not sure how that works as she was clearly available to answer phone calls. Other than that she was very friendly and helpful though!

I guess I'll find out tomorrow whether I'm getting it or not!
